Exploring Budapest – A memorable journey with BCD Meetings & Events
Our recent trip to Budapest was a delightful blend of culture, gastronomy and relaxation, showcasing the best this vibrant city has to offer. The adventure began as we arrived at the Kozmo Hotel Suites and Spa, a luxurious gem that promised comfort and elegance throughout our stay. Upon check-in, we were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, setting the tone for a relaxing getaway.

After settling in, we enjoyed a light lunch at the hotel’s Bistro Restaurant, which offered a taste of local flavours in a cozy setting. With our appetites satisfied and plenty of lubrication, we had some time to unwind.
The BCD Meetings and Events team then headed off for a brief meeting. Following this, we embarked on a site inspection of the hotel, appreciating its exquisite amenities and inviting atmosphere.
As evening approached, we gathered for a bus departure to explore one of Budapest’s iconic landmarks. Our guided walking tour of Buda Castle took us through the historic grounds, absorbing the stunning views of the Danube and the city skyline. The rich history and majestic architecture left us in awe.

Dinner was served at the renowned Aranybastya restaurant where we indulged in traditional Hungarian cuisine. After a fulfilling meal, we returned to the hotel for a restful night, well needed after our 6am flight that morning.
The next day started with a bright and early departure from the hotel. We kicked off our exploration with a city rally in the Pest city center. Our first stop was the Great Market Hall, where we sampled local delicacies and experienced the bustling atmosphere. From there, we hopped onto tramway 2, soaking in the sights until we reached Vígadó tér (square).

At Gerbeaud coffee house, we enjoyed a delicious cake tasting and participated in a fun Rubik’s cube challenge, a nod to Hungary’s famous invention. Continuing our journey, we took the tram to the Parliament, where a brief walk allowed us to appreciate the stunning exterior of this architectural masterpiece.
Next, we indulged in a wine tasting session at Bortarsasag, followed by a leisurely stroll to the Strudelhouse. Here, we participated in a strudel stretching workshop, which was both entertaining and educational, culminating in a delightful lunch.
Post-lunch, we walked towards St. Stephen’s Basilica, admiring its grandeur from the outside before potentially visiting Vigadó. We then returned to the hotel for some well-deserved free time, where we could all explore, shop, or take advantage of the spa facilities.

As evening approached, we departed for Gabor M Szőke Studio for a welcome reception organised by VEG (catering firm). The studio is part gallery, part events venue and the workshop of renowned Hungarian artist, Gabor Szőke. The venue is full of works of art and installations.
Following the reception, we headed to the ruin bar quarter for a unique dining experience at Extra, where the vibrant atmosphere promised a lively night. Shots followed and many hours later we found ourselves playing pool at the Kozmo in the early hours of Sunday morning. The interim I will leave to your imagination.

Our journey concluded with free time for shopping and relaxation at the hotel’s spa, ensuring we were refreshed before our departure for the airport.
Budapest captivated us with its charm, rich history and culinary delights making this trip nothing short of unforgettable. An amazing destination for your next event and the Kozmo Hotel makes the perfect place to stay.
